The election of the General Leader of the LSA

On July 17th 2017, we gathered in the "Our Lady of the Assumption" room in the Mother House, where the members of the Chapter re-elected Marie-Françoise Phelippeau as Superior General of the Congregation for 5 years.

Marie-Françoise was born on July 12th, 1946, in the south-west of France. She studied nursing in La Rochelle where she met the Sisters. During her novitiate, Marie-Françoise tells us, she heard the call to join the under qualified and socially unrecognized workers, especially women. Similarly, for 13 years she worked as an employee in a laundry and later in the metallurgical sector.

She joined a union and campaigned for housing and the environment. Between 1985 and 1997 she worked on the youth ministry and the Postulate for her Province while working on the diocesan team of the Pastoral for Migrants. She trained as a marriage and family counsellor. She began her first term as Superior General in 2011.
