Visit of Sister Mary and celebration in the Otara parish community for a 50th birthday celebration

Auckland - New Zealand

Sister Mary recently spent some time with us in A/NZ - what can we say but gratitude to the General Council for sending Mary to visit us.

At the end of Mary’s visit we were invited to a celebration in the Otara parish community for a 50th birthday celebration. It was a great celebration of 50 years well lived by this young man and his family. It was also a day of launching their family band and I had the privilege of cutting the ribbon to mark the beginning of their band.

I think Mary enjoyed her first experience of Polynesian celebration of music and dancing and of course there was plenty of kai, (food) to enjoy.

We all felt energised, refreshed and renewed by Mary’s short visit and it deepened our sense of belonging to the Congregation and of being in solidarity with all LSAs around the world.
