The harshness of the situations that confront us or which we witness in our local surroundings as well as at the international level, impels us to act according to our option for the poor. Countless people are subjected to violence, marked by hunger and wounded in their dignity. Consequently, "action on behalf of justice and participation in the transformation of the world fully appear to us as a constitutive diamension of the preaching of the gospel."

Rule of Life no 21.

Justice and Peace concerns all of us of us, whatever our age and no matter where we live. It is an integral part of our mission since it derives from our way of following Jesus Christ who became incarnate in our human reality and struggled for the excluded of his time. Like Etienne Pernet and Antoinette Fage rooted in the reality of todays world, marked by hunger, injustices, wars, the forced displacement of millions of people and the gradual destruction of the planet earth, we work with others to create a more justice world.

The situation of injustice in which oppressed peoples find themselves challenges us strongly to commit ourselves:

To live and work in solidarity with those who are impoverished. Option for the poor.
To analyse reality from the stand point of the poor.
To work with others in groups and organisations which promote the life and dignity of persons, and who work for structural change and the transformation of the world.
To denounce injustice, structures of oppression, the economic and political systems which support them.
To denounce the ever growing inequalities between the North and the South.
To work with others in the development of structures capable of protecting the global environment.
To work for the promotion of non violence.

"The God of compassion who draws near to all who suffer continues to open our hearts to hear more attentively the painful cries of humanity sending us forth to give a radical response in working for Justice Peace and the Integrity of Creation"

Congregational Document.
