In
January the International Commission met at the Mother House in Paris to
discuss and reflect on what was, from the beginning, an intuition of Fr
Pernet:
The laity and the Little Sisters form a single
family.
From that intuition the Fraternities, the Daughters of St Monica, the
Decurions and the Lady Servants came into being. Today, all this is taking
on a new form, one that differs from country to country. A new awareness
is emerging: the Charism is at the
centre and around it are those who are nourished by it –
the Little Sisters, the AOLA (association of consecrated laywomen), the
Fraternities and other lay groups.
The Commission wishes to gather
information on what is being done, what exists already and what is coming
into being, so as to try to create a network and make proposals as to how
these bonds between LSA and Laity may be strengthened, and also to give a
shape to this partnership.
